Castle Creek Christian Academy is founded by experienced Christian educators who understand education, curriculum, teamwork, and administration. Most importantly, they’ve built a center that reflects the type of environment that they would want for their own children. Castle Creek and the children within are blessed to have a phenominal group of teachers who are proven to lead a team to much success. 


Kelly Braugh    Academy Director

With twenty years of Early Childcare experience, Kelly has found this job field to be the most rewarding.  She has a passion for children, and has adopted two of her own.  This love for children, in addition to her background, education, and degree in Accounting, provide the ideal components for her role as Director.  Kelly has five beautiful children, and claims many more within these four walls.  Her past times include running in the outdoors, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.  "Castle Creek is a wonderful opportunity to reach the children in the community with the love of God, and a chance to change lives.  I am blessed to be a part of it!  Thank you for this chance to build a relationship with your child, and with you!" -  Kelly

Tammy Fitzgerald    Assistant Director

Tammy has 32 years of experience in the Early Childcare field.  Along with her administrative experience, Tammy carries most of her experience working directly in the classroom.  She has worked with all ages, including newborns through 5th grade.  She has also worked with special needs children in many capacities.  She enjoys living in Flower Mound with her husband Ryan. Her daughter attends Castle Creek in the afterschool program.  She enjoys cooking, reading, music, and time with family and friends. 

Julie Samson    Office/Staff Administrator

Julie has over five years of office management experience.  She moved to Texas sixteen years ago from Illinois and has two children of her own.  Julie really enjoys the work she does, and interacting with new people.  She believes in the important quality of being a hard worker and will do her best to maintain a wonderful environment for you and your children.  Julie is very excited to be a part of the CCCA team and looks forward to meeting you and your family!

Angela Denis    Program Director and Art Teacher

Angela has many years of experience working with children, and has three beautiful girls of her own. She graduated from Jenkins High School in Florida, where she lived for many years.  She recently moved back to Texas, to be closer to her family. She is excited about working in Castle Creek, and wants to guide children's creativity, and hopes to help them find new ways to learn. She enjoys reading the Bible, spending time with her children outdoors, and cooking with her family.

Makinley Webb    Cook

Makinley has been a nanny and has worked with kids in church for many years.  She also worked at a bakery at Magnolia in Waco.  She went to Baylor University for two years before returning home to pursue ministry.  Makinley enjoys reading, playing piano, and watching movies.  She has always loved to cook and even more so, she has loved getting to pour into kids and watch them grow.  This position is extremely rewarding for her.   She is newly married and hopes in the future to be able to travel with her husband to share the Gospel across the country and around the world.

Christina Mohair    Caregiver of Infants

Christina has 22 years of experience in the early childcare field. Also, she has an Associates Degree in Child Development. She has worked with all ages, including newborns, throughout her 22 years. She has also worked with special needs children. Christina moved here from California, with her husband and three children. Christina is so excited to be a part of the Castle Creek family and can't wait to be a part of your child's life.

Estela Guajardo    Caregiver of Infants

Originally from Tamaulipas, Mexico, Estela has lived in the DFW area for more than half of her life. With 17 years of child care experience, she hopes to bring love and charismatic joy to all the children at CCCA. Her hobbies include listening to different genres of music, dancing, cooking and baking. Communication is important not only with the family at home, but with her close friends as well. Her two sons now 18 and 13, and her daughter who is 5, have been the blessings of her life. She loves to work with kids of all ages, but has a special place in her enormous heart for infants and toddlers. She believes setting a proper and jovial foundation at a young age brings the best for the future of the next generation. Estela is blessed to be a part of the team and hopes to bring a fun and enjoyable vibe to both children and staff at CCCA.

Danielle Oatis    Caregiver of Infants

Danielle has many years of experience working with children of all ages through raising her daughter and working in a school district setting.  She has worked with special needs kids as well as gained a lot of firsthand knowledge by trying to be the best big sister to her teenage brother who has high-functioning autism.  With her love for caring for all ages and having a special place in her heart for the special needs and critically ill, she is attending college to eventually become a pediatric nurse.  She cannot wait to be a part of your child's life and to show the love of Christ with the simplest of acts.

Erin Lata    Lead Teacher - Toddlers

Erin comes to us from Southern California where she taught preschool and volunteered in the Early Childhood Program at her church.  She has an Early Childhood Teaching Certification from Moorpark College in California and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Kansas.  She has a husband and two daughters.  Erin loves spending time with friends and family.  She also enjoys learning and gaining knowledge so she is constantly seeking new information.  She also loves cooking.  She believes it is important to do her job well and that her most important role at CCCA is to keep the children safe and to ensure they are having fun.

Anne Bowen    Assistant Teacher - Toddlers

Anne is a student at Texas Women's University studying Art Education.  She has a second minor in applied Psychology, and has been working with children for the past eight years as a nanny, at Rockwall ISD in their aftercare program, at Southern Methodist University's Preschool and Child Care Center, and at Lewisville ISD in their aftercare program.  Her hobbies include painting, crafting, and planning adventures to see art exhibits.

Breann Ward    Lead Teacher - Early Preschool

Breann is originally from Florida, but has lived in Flower Mound since 1995. She graduated from Lewisville High School, and has been working in childcare for 15 years.  Breann enjoys spending time with her husband Chris, and her sons Caleb, Colton, and Cooper. Colton, her middle son is one of the cute preschoolers that attends Castle Creek, and Cooper is one of the adorable Infants! Her hobbies include Church, reading, scrapbooking, photography and running. Breann loves what she does and feels blessed to be a part of the Castle Creek team.

Jennifer Bridges    Assistant Teacher - Early Preschool

Jennifer has over 10 years of experience as an Infant, Toddler, and Early Preschool Teacher. She feels that it is such a blessing to be able to help mold children while watching them learn and grow. Jennifer has earned a Child Development Associate from Tarrent County College. She enjoys crafting, singing, and interior design. Jennifer can't wait to build lasting relationhips with the students and families at Castle Creek Christian Academy.

Debra Rodrigues    Assistant Teacher - Toddlers

Debra has worked as a sub for a public preschool and worked as teacher in a Montessori preschool for almost 2 years. She enjoys skiing, hiking, swimming, drawing and doing anything with her three children. She believes that by doing what you love, you inspire and awaken the hearts of others.

Celsa de Jesus-Goff    Teacher - Preschool 1

Celsa was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and immigrated to the United States as a child.  Coming from a family of teachers, she knew from an early age that she was destined to educate young minds.  She attended Pfeiffer University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and History.  As an educator, Celsa has worked with children of all ages and has taught at most levels.  With almost ten years of experience in the classroom, she believes that edcucation is the skeleton key that opens all doors.  Although she doesn't have children of her own yet, she considers her students to be her children.  To date, she has taught over 200 kiddos.  Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading and cooking.  She resides in Irving with her husband and their four-legged baby, Daisy Mae.

Valarie Walker    Teacher - Preschool 1

Valarie is originally from North Carolina.  She moved to Texas in 1999.  She has 23 years of experience in early child care.  She loves teaching children and always looks forward to seeing the progress they make throughout the year.  Valarie feels that encouragement and praise are very important during the informative years.  She loves spending time with her husband and two sons.  She enjoys church, camping, reading and shopping, especially the flea market and craft shows.  Valarie feels blessed to be a part of the Castle Creek family.

Karen Holland    Teacher - Preschool 2

Karen and her husband recently moved to Texas from Indiana and have three children, one grown son and two daughters in college.  She also has two fur babies.  She has worked in the elementary education field for over ten years.  She loves working with children and finds it a privilege to assist in the beginning steps of a child's academic, social and spiritual life.  She believes that parents and teachers communicating is a key to a child's success in life.  

Shea Culbreth    Assistant Teacher - Preschool 2

Shea has a lot of experience babysitting.  She loves kids and teaching them.  She enjoys teaching little kids new things.  She hopes to be a teacher at CCCA for a long time.

Greg McBride    Lead Teacher - Afterschool Care

Greg has had a lot of experience with kids. He has worked for 10 years in Youth Ministry, 4 years in Boys and Girls Club, 2 years at Central Texas Children's Center and 4 years at Kid Grace Learning Center. He loves making a positive impact on youth. He believes he should be relevant, creative and effective.

April Davis    Lead Teacher - Junior Kindergarten 1

Michelle Apgar    Lead Teacher - Junior Kindergarten 2

Michelle has been an educator of young children for the past twenty-seven years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Reading Specialization from Lamar University and is certified to teach Early Childhood, ESL and Gifted. Michelle taught Kindergarten for Plano ISD, Allen ISD, and Coppell ISD. After retiring from public school, God lead Michelle to Castle Creek Christian Academy. She is rejoicing that she will be serving where her granddaughter, Vanessa, will be attending early preschool! Michelle has a passion for helping children develop into all God has created them to be! She loves spending time with her family, studying God's Word, cooking, gardening and kayaking.
